Retro Trends that are Back with a BANG!

Scrunchies
.
Paris Hilton was spotted wearing a pink polka dot scrunchie on her wrist before her tennis lesson two Thursdays ago. During the lesson she slid it off her hand and threw it in her hair to make the cutest ponytail. According to TMZ’s latest fashion trends, scrunchies are back in business! So hurry and get some before the rest of the world does and calls you a copycat!

Not only is Paris bringing back the scrunchie, but her tennis socks were white with little white ruffles at the top. Boutiques all around Los Angeles are stocking up and supplies are flying off the shelves.

Knee Highs

Knee highs totally extenuate your legs, and especially when they're black, because black is slimming. They were made especially popular in 1995 by the movie Clueless. Cher rocked that trend like no one else, and now you can too, because knee highs are back.

* A Note on Cankles *

And if you are worried about cankles, you MUST wear shoes with straps that go around your ankles or cute little anklets. It’s a proven fact that this dwindles the appearance of cankles and gives you a cute slimming ankle rather then the dreaded tree trunk leg.

Bellbottoms

Another great way to hide your cankles is with bellbottoms. Luckily for all our ankle heavy friends, bellbottoms have been spotted in the most trendy shops in Paris and Milan. Men and women all over the most stylish regions of Europe have been seen in bellbottoms. If you have any Italian friends from your travels abroad, check their Facebook pics and you’ll be able to see for yourself. Since fashion trends always start in Europe first, and then slowly head over to the west, this little tid bit of info will put you way ahead of the curve in North America.

Cutoffs

Arrested Development poked fun at cut off jeans as Tobias Funke wore them as a never-nude. However, in our time of global recession being thrifty counts. So why would you waste perfectly good jeans after you're done with them by throwing them out? You can re-use them by turning them into some stylish cut-offs. The cool thing about them is that you're totally in control, so you can make them into any length you want. Just remember to fray them at the bottoms.

Flannel

You thought that flannel died with Kurt Cobain, and so did we… but it has recently been resurrected back into mainstream fashion.
This top fashion comeback has been brought back to you by none other than the most desired duo out there: our favourite vampire and the girl who holds his heart, aka Rob Pattinson and Kristen Stuart of "Twilight". They claim flannel to not only be comfortable, but also extremely sexy. Rob wears his flannel just open over his white wife beater, and Kristen wears a similar tank with the flannel open and tied in front.
Bella Swan wore flannel in the first book of the Twilight series, and this fictional character’s fashion preference totally set it off for Rob. He loved the look as he was reading the books in preparation for his role in the movie, and decided that he was going to wear flannel in real life. As soon as the paparazzi posted their photos, love for flannel spread like wildfire. It’s the perfect outfit for your special first date, or to look hot at your local club.

Overalls

Lately millions of junior high student have been seen in overalls. This trend is TOTALLY coming back for the younger sector of our population. The heartthrob Zac Efron was seen wearing overalls, and that got the teenage girls screaming. First it started with them trying to copy him, because he's quite the catch in the junior high arena. Since the boys are now competing for the hearts of the girls with Zac Efron and his post-puberty hottnes, they also became converted to overalls. So now if you go to any junior high in the mid-west and pacific regions, you will see scores of kids in overalls. It's almost unreal. What's even more amazing is that teenagers are now becoming regulars at their local salvation army stores in their search for overalls, since regular stores haven't been selling any since around 1996.

Jen & Owen

Jen has been a closet Efron fan ever since the debut of High School Musical on the Disney Channel.
She let her feelings for Zac show when she was caught on camera
